Oh but while I'm on the subject... this is extremely presumptuous of me, but after watching Control, it made me wonder if people really write better when they're experiencing some sort of emotional turmoil. Thoughts?

i think thats the way it goes, nobody wants to hear about how happy someone is. For me it seems more honest and i can relate to it knowing that other people are as miserable as i am. i guess it makes me feel better to know that other people suffer from the same emotional distress that i do. But anyway i dont think there are any great writers or artists who didnt suffer from some emotional turmoil on some level. Why do people create in the first place? As an outlet to express their thoughts and feelings.
