2.4.6.8 Motorway

I came across this cute place on my ride home Saturday morning. The Esquire Motel, located at 6145 N Elston, isn't quite the place I'd like to end up staying at now, but I'm sure in it's heyday it was just a quaint little stop for young travellers, or maybe a handsome businessman or two.

I don't know what fascinates me about places like this. I love imagining what it was like in the fifties or sixties, which I'm assuming is around when it was built. What kind of people stayed there, what the walls could tell you...

...but I guess I'm just weird like that.

I like these places. Not that I've ever been to one. Just for me, over here, the idea of these seedy motel type places is intriguing.

Okay, that was a terribly written sentence. I don't mean that seedy motels intrigue me; I just mean; they're cool, film-wise, America-wise and other-wise.

This is why I try not to comment on people's blogs. peoples blogs? people's? I don't know if the ' should be there. Hmm.

I am the same way. I like to imagine what it most have been like back in its heyday.

I just happened upon your blog, and I agree with you about old places. I would love to travel back about 50 or 60 years, and see how things worked back then. Take care and God bless.
